The Board was set up in 2010 to enable parents and carers to be involved in shaping services available to all families in Portsmouth. 

 

As Members we like to connect with the local community to find out how parents are feeling and hear their views on particular subjects.  We do this via our social media sharing information, conducting surveys, polls, chat with families at stay and play groups, circulate surveys and run focus groups on various issues to gather opinions. All of this information is then shared when we attend strategic Council led meetings and allows us to bring parental perspective that professionals may not have considered. 

 

We get together for our monthly Parent Board meeting where Board Members listen to invited guest speakers from across the City and country.  We also share relevant information we have picked up over the last month and plan how best to distribute any key messages to the community.
